Rum has its origin in the West Indies.

Classifications of Rum White Rums are generally light-bodied (although there are a few heavy-bodied White Rums). They are usually clear and have a very subtle flavour.

If they are aged in oak casks to create a smooth palate, they are then usually filtered to remove any colour. White Rums are primarily used as mixers and blend particularly well with fruit flavours.

Golden Rums, also known as Amber Rums, are generally medium-bodied. Most have spent several years ageing in oak casks, which give them smooth, mellow palates.

Dark Rums are traditionally full-bodied, rich, caramel-dominated Rums. The best is produced mostly from pot stills and frequently aged in oak casks for extended periods.

Spiced Rum can be white, golden, or dark Rum. They are infused with spices or fruit flavours. White rum is normally drunk with cola, juices, and lime, golden rum is usually mixed with various mixers, and dark rum is more popular with cola, peppermint cordial or black current cordial.

Rum is also a good base for cocktails and long drinks. Spiced rum is usually mixed with juices.

It is recommended to serve a slice of lemon when serving white rum, Served in an 8 ½ oz,/24 cl. highball glass, stirrer, and ice is added if requested. For dark rum with cordials, it is recommended to use an Old-Fashioned glass.
